ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
» Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
(The course is offered in Spanish, for study purposes only. Participants must be able to communicate in English in order to obtain their Commercial Drivers License, per the Federal Department of Transportation.) » Present a high school diploma or GED certificate if available.
» Pass an Admissions Test.
» Be at least 18 years of age, 21 years of age in Nevada. Minimum age for interstate driving is 21.
» Must have at least 1-year minimum driving experience and have a current valid drivers license.
» Present a social security card and resident alien card, if applicable.
» Provide a 5-year MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
» Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical.
» Pass the SAMHSA/Nida 5-Panel drug test. According
to the U.S. Department of Transportation Regulations, student
drivers are required to test even though they may not yet
possess a Commercial Driver's License.
» Work history must be verifiable.
» Prior on the job injuries are considered by
employers within the trucking/transportation industry. Due
to the physical requirements of the position.
» Misdemeanors/Felonies are reviewed on a case by case basis.
